Oh. My. God. Already... I am in LOVE with this city. It is so beautiful. I am currently sitting in my queen sized bed in my OWN room with a firplace. and like 3 bureaus. I got here first, so I got the best picks of things. it's such a treat! :) The wireless is so unfortunate, BUT that's okay. I stole my neighbors. (shhh!)
The flight was LONG, but it went by easy enough. I barely had enough room to move my legs. However, they had a screen with movies, tv shows, games, music, and flight info. It was pretty awesome. I got to watch 'kick-ass' and 'date night'... I also met the sweetest guy on the plane. I got his number, so we're going to meet up for pints this week. He was RIDICULOUSLY nice and so IRISH. I loved it. When we got off the plane he bought me a water. So it's officially. Me and Max.... we're airplane bffls!
The Dublin airport is pretty small and outdated. However, it's almost a refreshing change than the see the huge ones I am normally use to. I finally met up with my IES members outside of customs and they got me into a taxi. The taxi driver gave me an amazing tour of Dublin. He got all excited about my studies (peace and conflict resolution) and then began his own personal stories about the conflict. Also, gave me a discount on my fare and a solid wink. So, for having survived an international flight with 0% sleep for like 24 hours I must not have looked that bad. :P
The HOUSE I live in is AMAZING. it has a kitchen dining room, living room, 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a porch. I DONT THINK IT GETS BETTER THAN THAT! :) It's on a small street in Rathagar village. It's got all sorts of pubs and restaurants everywhere.
More updates later. taking a NAP.
xoxo, Hannah
PS: everyone is REALLY REALLY hard to understand. their lingo is wacked. :P

BLAH, I am NOW the DAWN OF THE WALKING DEAD. (9 Hours and 24 Minutes...)
I have slept exactly 1 hour and 47 minutes today... I know, REAL smart.
Since my last posting, I have found out a few things: 1: I never said goodbye to my boss, and now I feel the need to drive into Portland for a big big bear hug! :) AND, 2: I only got a STUPID adapter and didn't get the converter too. So, you could imagine, here I am... It's 1 am and I start to tweak out a little bit. Only slightly. For you all that know me well, I am fun and everything, but when it comes to something that is new and unknown, I can get hyper sensitive and tend to blow some issues out of proportion. It always happens. I was pretty shocked by how calm I was up until then.
So, at 1 am. I start to rampage the internet looking for ANYWHERE that would have one. Target and Walmart only have ones ONLINE and Radio Shack was out of stock. I look at staples and officemax, and then I realize, there isn't even an officemax close to me anymore... This is when I think of Ace Hardware randomly and I FOUND one. It is now mine. You may wonder WHY I was so concerned? CHARGERS. I have like 20 electrical appliances and I need to charge them. In addition, I will need to use my hair straighter. I like mine, you may call me demanding even though I dont normally I don't care what my hair looks like, but... when I do, I like to use my own.
With that extremely miniscule crisis taken care of, I have some MORE exciting updates. Okay, to me it was super exciting. I talked to my roommate, Claire last night. She is currently over there and she seems SO cool which makes me MORE and MORE excited every minute. On the flip side, I had to say goodbye to my mom this morning. I already feel weird without her around, she's my bud. I have never missed a single major thanksgiving with the fam, and I haven't gone more than like 3 months from being home. This will be the longest time I have ever spent away from Maine and DC (which feels like home too in its own way.) I haven't spent so much time away from either place since I started college.
All I need to do NOW, is check in, clean out my car, put things in car, register for some discount card. etc. etc. then it's off to beantown, and then off the DUBLIN! (I've been looking up Gaelic Irish word and saying!) so... sláinte!
Over and OUT, Hannah. xoxoxo

Only 20 Hours, and 47 Minutes Left...
Hello all. First of all, I've never really been into this whole blogging thing. Always never had the time to invest in it, so bare with me. YET, it seemed like a good idea to start one, just because I know I will be the biggest space cadet and forget half my stories to tell everyone once I get home.
While I sit here in bed contemplating the things I may have forgotten, and the last minute people I have yet to say goodbye to... I cam up with a list of rules for myself 1: drink all the best Irish beers and whiskeys, 2: study and learn (since I AM there for school purposes of course!), 3: meet new people, and 4: HAVE LOTS OF FUN!
Right now, I guess I feel both excited and nervous. Nervous to be away from my beloved DC and ME for so long and yet SO excited to have the chance to live somewhere as amazing as Dublin. Beth Libby has informed me that if I were to meet a Gerard Butler look-a-like, she wouldn't blame me if I stayed.
Driving to Boston at about 2pm. Now it's only 20 hours and 35 minutes... :)
PS: I have gotten some addresses, but I love sending postcards. SO, if you want one. Send me a fb message or email.
